Kansas City’s Best New Bars & Restaurants This Fall

Speak Sandwiches Kansas City
Kansas City’s food scene is heating up this season! If you’ve been looking for some new spots to sink your teeth into, here are five noteworthy bars and restaurants to check out in November.

Speak Sandwiches Kansas City
1. Speak Sandwiches
Do the words pastramiroast beef or lox do anything for you? Then Westside’s new Speak Sandwiches is talking your language. The grab-and-go deli opened this October and serves a small menu of authentic deli sandwiches, in addition to Uncommon Stock soups and salads (potato, cole slaw, lentil and macaroni, currently).

Do not miss the housemade Pastrami Sandwich ($13) made with thick cuts of meat and topped with whole grain mustard, fresh dill and pickles.

Brioche Bakery Kansas City
2. Brioche Pastry Shop
Tis the season for comfort food, and Brioche is just the place to indulge. The cozy Crossroads bakery just opened in late October at the corner of 20th and Main. Offerings include Brioche’s signature flaky cinnamon rolls, scones, pecan sticky buns, croissants, danishes and coffee from Shortwave Coffee out of Colombia, Mo.

Taste Wine Cellar Kansas City
3. Taste Wine Cellar
Brookside’s trendy Italian restaurant and cocktail lounge, Plate, has expanded with a new private wine cellar and tasting room. The new addition, Taste, is available Tuesdays through Saturdays for private wine tastings, tours and events. Taste offers an exclusive selection of wines from Italy, Central Europe and California, with a special focus on vintage and quality.

Donutology in Kansas City
4. Donutology
Made-to-order donuts are on the menu at the brand-new Donutology in Westport. Customers can customize their own mini donuts with icings, drizzles and toppings, then watch their creations come to life behind the counter. Pop rocks, peanut butter, bacon, sprinkles and Fruit Loops are just some of the topping options available at Donutology. In addition to customizable minis, the shop offers full size pastries, a Roasterie coffee bar and Shatto milk.

SoT bar Kansas City
5. SoT Social
Sometimes you just need to sip in style. For those days, I suggest SoT. The Crossroads cocktail bar opened in September and features exposed brick, vintage decanters, plush seating and sexy neon signage. The cocktail menu is just as appealing…

SoT bar kansas city
I suggest the Tiki Cocktail, presented in a brass pineapple and filled with crushed ice, dark rum, allspice dram, lime, magadamia/almond orgeat, spicy ginger syrup and bitters. It’s not too sweet (more tart) and the perfect drink for remembering warmer days.

For a more fall-inspired cocktail, try SoT’s Smoky Cocktail – made with rum, Montenegro Amaro, house coffee bitters, smoked banana leaves, black tea, orange peel and cinnamon.

SoT Social
1521 Grand Blvd.
Kansas City, MO
Open Monday through Saturday 4 p.m. – 1:30 a.m.
